This Aran weight 100% wool yarn is spun from the flock of Suffolk X sheep here at Little Houndales Farm. The fleece has been washed, carded, spun and balled by The Natural Fibre Company.
This 100% Suffolk X is only available in Natural Ivory. It knits as a standard Aran weight and makes a "true woolly aran" - strong, rugged and naturally warm. The fibre from the Suffolk X flock has a long staple with a tight spring. The fibre is put through the worsted process to remove the shorter fibres, stretch out the longer ones - resulting in a fabulous crisp, crunchy yarn.
We do have a few 100 gram skeins which work out slightly cheaper than the balls (same quality, same batch). If you are interested in these please email kath@littlehoundalesknits.com for more details.
