Schachenmayr's Boston Spot chunky yarn is dotted with colour and the FREE hat pattern is great for a quick one night project.
The yarn has a very tight twist of very fine fibres so retains its softness and is very easy to knit with - great for beginners.
The hat is knitted in the round on a short circular needle, 6 mm for the brim and 6.5 mm for the body of the hat. The pattern is worked from a chart but is a basic K3, P3 alternated. Shaping for the top is a straightforward K2tog.
The hat will neatly fit a 54 cm head. Hat size can be increased by using a size larger needle. The length of the hat can be altered by working less pattern repeats but the hat is designed to be slightly slouchy at the pom pom.
