For years, the traditional knitting of ganseys, Guernseys, Cornish Knit-Frocks and all fishermen's sweaters has been part of British history. Frangipani Guernsey is spun and dyed in Yorkshire. The plies are smoothly twisted together and give a beautiful crisp stitch definition.
Traditional ganseys/Guernseys are knitted at a tight gauge of 32 stitches/36 rows per 10 cm on 2.25 mm needles. However, you can knit any sports weight project and alter the needles accordingly. If you fancy knitting colourwork then up your needle size and see these gorgeous colors pop.
Little Houndales Knits are pleased to offer two weight options on this yarn, a 500 gram cone or 100 gram cakes. (Please note: the 100g cakes will be wound straight from the cone and will therefore bear no manufacturer's label. Each cake will be labelled separately with weight, properties, colour and dye number.)
